<p><span>I did use Starry Landscape Stacker but something didn&#8217;t go right. I will try again with other tweaks, maybe there&#8217;s some other way to give it some stars to align to. In the meantime, I also found an open source astro program called Siril that is very powerful, but then of course it&#8217;s a&hellip;</span></p>

To <span class="atwho-inserted"><a>@MichaelFrye</a></span> &#8216;s point, rule of 400 gave streaks, although at this magnification it doesn&#8217;t look too bad. I&#8217;ll try again.</p>
<p>Ref. question above re. stacking images without a landscape reference, any hints would be appreciated!</p>

On the wider-angle frames (e.g. 35mm), there is a separation between the horizon (trees) and the sky, which helps delineate the sky for Starry Landscape Stacker. In this case, stacking seems to help the picture.</p>

<p>In the 200mm zoom, there is nothing but sky. In this instance, stacking just destroys the core of the comet.&hellip;</p>

I tried tonight (before I saw your email), but with the rule of 400 and did notice the minor streaking. I will try again with the shorter exposure. I ended up with ISO around 3200. I shot 16-20 exposures, and I will try stacking them as you had shown us. </p>

<p>I found I had to go to 200mm to get a decent size. 50mm-ish to get&hellip;</p>
